The ones behind the bar.
The sun hits the water around five. That's when the first Duvel gets poured, the speakers find their groove, and Chalok Bay turns gold. Niels is behind the bar. Pong is shaking something with lime. Someone just lost at chess. You're not going anywhere tonight.
Niels brought his Belgian beer obsession to Thailand in 2017. Pong brought the Thai warmth, the cocktail instinct, and the fishermen who drop off sashimi at sunset. Together, they turned a quiet stretch of sand into the bar that 225 reviews call "the best on the island."
